Taranaki Beginners' Block Course

A 6 week Capoeira Beginners' Block Course will be held on Monday nights from the 18th of January. The cost for the block is $60, and classes run from 7-9pm at Central Primary School Hall on Pendarves Street.

Capoeira is a unique cultural art from Brazil. It is a fighting art integrated with music, movement, gymnastics, theatrics and play. All welcome! Capoeira is ideal for physical fitness, flexibility, coordination and strength. Beyond this, we play capoeira for reasons as various as physical skill, musicianship, community and of course for FUN!

Capoeira Mandinga Aotearoa is NZ's oldest capoeira group, started in 1992 by Mestre Brabo, NZ's first capoeira master. There are now branches in centers around the country. The group performs regularly at festivals and events, teaches in schools and holds it's own workshops, camps and events.
