Draw close, welcome, people of the land and of the world, so you can see the source of song, so that you can see the guardians, so that you can see Tohu Kākahi and Te Whiti o Rongomai, the man who brings together the grievances of the country, the man who unfurled the emblem, who planted the seed of peace as a foundation for the world.

Capoeira Mandinga Aotearoa have again been given the opportunity to contribute to the Parihaka Peace Festival in 2023. It is an honor to be able to do this, as the festival itself shares many core values with the art that we practice, and gives us some of our own historical and cultural context and understanding. We have come a long way as people, but arts and gatherings like these remind us that there is still a way to go.
If you are heading to the festival you can catch us at the following times and places:
Saturday 9th Jan
10:30am - Roda (demo) in front of visionaries stage
11:30am - Workshop in front of Main stage, followed by roda (demo)
with all the participants
Sunday 10th Jan
10:30am - Roda (demo) in front of visionaries stage with our group and
all the people from the workshop the day before
